Foundation of Light
STACK Seaburn, alongside The Seaburn Inn, have helped boost the Foundation of Light’s youth engagement programmes with a donation that has helped benefit the whole city.
Members of the Foundation’s YOLO and Premier League Kicks scheme took part in a little pick to help clean up Sunderland seafront.
The programme has helped to engage youngsters in a number of intervention activities and thanks to the support of STACK, the latest social action project has been a great success.
Scores of youngsters got involved in the big clean up and as a reward for their efforts, enjoyed a meal courtesy of STACK Seaburn afterwards.
STACK Seaburn has been a firm support of the Red Sky Foundation, raising vital funds to keep hearts beating across the North East.
Thanks to this partnership, STACK is now home to a defibrillator – located outside of Yolo Coffee & Kitchen.
Having a defibrillator on site means that, should anyone at the venue or nearby get into trouble, there is quick access to an amazing piece of kit that can save lives.
STACK has also provided Red Sky Foundation with opportunities to fund raise during specific children’s and family events at the site.
In 2022, STACK Seaburn teamed up with Animals Asia North East UK and Sunderland City Council to help keep our beaches clean and wildlife protected.
During their weekly beach cleans, Animals Asia NE were finding countless abandoned, discarded and lost dog toys – so STACK have helped to build a number of beach boxes to help maintain Seaburn as a blue flag beach.
The boxes have been installed at intervals along the seafront, meaning that any lost or abandoned toys can be disposed of / recycled correctly – helping to keep our oceans less polluted and help preserve the safety of our local wildlife.
STACK Seaburn provided sponsorship for the annual Boxing Day Dip and a venue for dippers to register, meet with friends and get warm after the fundraising event.
Organised by Sunderland Lions Club and Red Sky Foundation, STACK Seaburn supported the event to ensure its return after a 3 year absence following Covid.
The event saw hundreds of locals take part, braving the freezing cold North Sea wearing weird and wacky fancy dress whilst raising money for their chosen charity.
As of 2023, STACK Seaburn have been regularly working alongside Pawz for Thought - a local pet who help rescue, rehabilitate and and re-home all pets and wild animals.
The charity are raising money to build a new Wildlife Hospital and STACK were delighted to be able to host a charity day in venue to help them raise funds. Over £650.00 was raised via a raffle and tombola - with talks in process to offer the space up regularly.
STACK Seaburn is renowned for its eclectic line up of live entertainment and support of local, up-and-coming acts.
Since opening, STACK have provided an inclusive and safe stage for local youth performing group: Own Your Stage, to utilise on a monthly basis.
The group provides open access and live showcase opportunities to young performers looking to gain experience and exposure within the entertainment industry.
As of December 2021, STACK has annually supported St Benet's Catholic Primary School with their School Choir performance during the Christmas period.
Making up part of STACK's wider Christmas programme of entertainment, the primary school take over the venue's stage for an afternoon of festive fun and classic carols - performed in front of their teachers, family and friends.
With up to 50 pupils partaking in the performance, STACK also takes responsibility for ensuring all pupils are provided with refreshments on the day: including pizzas, fries and soft drinks.
