PICK UP A VINTAGE DESIGNER BARGAIN AT STACK NEWCASTLE
A UNIQUE North East company known for its top end vintage clothing and stylish streetwear is to open a new unit at STACK Newcastle.
Waceland, which has an outlet in Durham under the name Ace Vintage and is renowned for its popular pop-up shops, has taken one of the street facing retail spaces at the new STACK, which opened its doors last week.
The flagship development at Worswick Chambers, Pilgrim Street is the largest STACK to date, with three floors featuring eight bars and eight independent street food units, an outside plaza with a stage and interactive gaming at Sideshow.
STACK Newcastle also has four external retail units, with YOLO Coffee & Kitchen the first to open, which will be followed in the near future by Patrick Forster Barbers and Shop, which is expanding from its High Bridge Street base, as well as Breadwin Sandwich Deli.
Waceland will now take up the final unit, offering the company’s own range of streetwear with a North East twist which includes hoodies, T shirts and bags along with handpicked vintage items.
Georgia Stanley, who is part of the family-owned business and who does the designing, marketing and also hunts out the designer clothes is excited about moving into STACK.
“This is the absolute perfect location for us,” she said.
“Over the years we’ve had a number of pop-up shops and were also in the Central Arcade for six years but we wanted to find somewhere new.
“STACK Newcastle absolutely bowled us over when we went to see it and now we just can’t wait to open.”
Shoppers will be able to pick up bargain items for brands ranging from Ralph Lauren to Burberry, all sourced and handpicked by Georgia and her brother Jordan.
Gemma Dishman, STACK’s Project Development Director, said Waceland would be a great addition.
“Waceland is a fantastic fit for STACK Newcastle. Having an independent vintage brand with such strong North East roots trading from a historic Grade II listed building feels completely right for this site,” she said.
“ Worswick Chambers is a key part of the regeneration of the Pilgrim Street area, and it’s important to us that the businesses here reflect that sense of character and creativity.
“We’re just as selective with our external retail units as we are with our internal traders, making sure each offer genuinely complements STACK and appeals to our customers.
“ Waceland’s curated vintage pieces and original designs will really benefit from the footfall we attract and add something distinctive to this growing part of the city.”
