First Glimpse of STACK Wigan
THE FIRST glimpse of how Wigan’s new leisure development will look has now been unveiled, ahead of its opening later this year.
STACK Wigan will be housed across two floors of the former Debenhams store inside the Grand Arcade Shopping Centre and developers have now released imagery and a fly-through video which shows the scale of the scheme.
As plans continue to progress, the call has now gone out for diverse and exciting street food vendors to get in touch, with a view to taking up a unit at the site.
STACK Wigan will have six food outlets in all and while one has already been allocated to ZZA Pizzeria – one of the most popular eateries at other STACK venues – the remainder are up for grabs.
STACK’s signature style is to offer an eclectic mix of international cuisine and the plan is to replicate this model at Wigan, ensuring there is something for everyone.
Along with the six food outlets, STACK Wigan will have five bars, an outdoor terrace, big screens which will also show major sporting events, a stage which will be used for a full programme of live entertainment, a dedicated pool table area and a coffee shop.

“We are delighted to be able to finally give a real flavour of what we are going to offer at STACK Wigan as we know how eagerly awaited it is,” said Gemma Dishman, Director of Strategy and Development at STACK.
“And now we’re looking to enhance that with a strong mix of street food traders that offers a good balance of well-known favourites alongside more unique and independent concepts.
“It’s important that there’s variety across the line-up, with each trader bringing something different, so customers have plenty of choice without too much overlap.
“We want operators who can deliver consistently in a busy environment and help create a vibrant, high-energy atmosphere that keeps people coming back.”
STACK’s existing sites feature food from Italy, Mexico, Greece, Korea, China and the USA, covering everything from bao buns to burgers, from Tex Mex to fried chicken and pulled pork.
“STACK is always committed to supporting local businesses and entrepreneurs and we hope this will give those operators the opportunity to become part of the STACK family,” added Gemma.
Mike Matthews Centre Manager from Grand Arcade Shopping Centre said the opening of STACK Wigan would be transformational for both the shopping centre and the town.
"We're really pleased to be working with STACK to bring this exciting new leisure destination to Grand Arcade.
STACK will add a completely new dimension to the shopping centre, complementing our existing retail offer and creating more reasons for people to spend time in the town centre throughout the day and into the evening.
The launch of the trader recruitment process is another important milestone, and we're looking forward to seeing a fantastic mix of operators come forward to help make STACK Wigan a great destination for both local people and visitors alike.”
Any interested vendors should complete the trader enquiry form online at https://stackleisure.com/trader-vacancies/ Previous applicants will also be reviewed.
The deadline for applications is 21 July.
