SEARCH IS ON FOR UK’S TOP STREET FOOD TRADERS FOR STACK NEWCASTLE AT WORSWICK CHAMBERS
The creation of a flagship leisure hub in the heart of Newcastle is getting one step closer, with the launch of a campaign to recruit top street food traders, both regionally and nationally.
STACK Newcastle will open in 2025, at Worswick Chambers, Pilgrim Street - close to the site of the original STACK. And now with the fit-out well underway on bringing the Grade II listed building – which has stood empty for a number of years – back to life, STACK is looking for the best traders from the North East and beyond.
The new venue is the most ambitious STACK yet, combining a historic building with an external plaza, which will be home to a big screen and a stage for live entertainment surrounded by repurposed shipping containers stacked over three floors. The venue will include a total of nine street food units and nine bars, ranging from cocktail bars to rum and beer bars, all with their own distinctive look and feel.
The third floor will be home to STACK’s competitive socialising brand, Sideshow, which made its debut at STACK Lincoln opening in November 2024. This area on the third floor of the original building will feature interactive darts, shuffleboard, beer pong, and karaoke with a vintage carnival aesthetic.
It will also have a small number of street-facing retail units, including a coffee shop - YOLO Coffee & Kitchen.
Neill Winch, CEO of STACK is incredibly excited to launch this campaign and begin the search for exceptional street food traders to join STACK Newcastle.
“This venue represents everything that STACK stands for – a unique blend of live entertainment, high-quality food and drink, and a real sense of community. Worswick Chambers is such an iconic location, and this project will breathe new life into the heart of the city.”
Gemma Dishman, Project Development Director for STACK, added:
“STACK Newcastle will be a destination like no other. We’re focused on curating the very best street food traders from across the UK and bringing them together under one roof to create an exciting, dynamic experience. This is a unique opportunity for traders to showcase their food in a landmark venue, and we can’t wait to see the innovation and quality they bring to the table.”
