Davey’s Mexicano: A fiesta of flavours for the fans

Davey’s Mexicano, a spin off concept from the Davey’s Group only opened their doors three months ago in STACK Seaburn but they have already cemented themselves as a fan favourite at our seaside sister site. After 12 months travelling to the US, researching recipes and refining menus, founders Rob and David have encapsulated the perfect mix of Mexican flavours on a variety of meats and sides.

An idea born during a pandemic

Rob and David have extensive experience working within the hospitality industry and always spoke about starting their own business. Fast forward to 2020, the duo finally took that leap and have never looked back!

Within a couple of years they’ve expanded from offering their breakfast staples, opening the door for them to introduce new items such as smash burgers, fried chicken, and thick ice cream shakes. Fast forward to 2023, the team decided to offer a one-off special of 'Birria beef tacos' at the Davey's store, and they were an absolute hit! They received so many messages requesting the return of the tacos that they knew they were onto something.

After much deliberation on the best way to introduce the tacos to the Davey's menu, they conceived the idea of creating the first Davey's spin-off brand, 'Davey's MEXICANO.' This new venture allowed them to delve deeper into authentic Mexican cuisine, adding their personal touch to it, and its been a HUGE hit at STACK Seaburn.

Cooking up some Mexican Madness

At St. James’ STACK, the mighty mags can look forward to a range of Mexican favorites, including Birria beef tacos, loaded nachos, and much more. One of the most in-demand and unique items on the menu is the Mexican ramen box. This dish features ramen noodles, spicy Mexican gravy, mozzarella cheese, and a choice of overnight slow-cooked Birria beef or shredded chicken. Vegetarian options for both the ramen and tacos are also available. Another popular item from the Mexican menu is the dessert churros, available in four flavors: Nutella & Strawberry, Biscoff & Cinnamon, White Bueno, and Caramel & Chocolate.
