Acropolis have certainly created a name for themselves in recent years - scoring Greek Restaurant of the Year 2020 by the North England Prestige award and winners of the 'BATTLE OF THE BBQ' awards for five years in a row, from 2018 - 2023. They also have won the Prestige Awards for the past four years, from 2020 to 2023.

The street food company was built from the ground up by brothers Vikto and Filip Tachan and their friend Yusuf Yenil in 2016. They started with one thought; to bring the best Greek street food to the North East.

Since then the guys have expanded at an incredible pace, to the point that you can now find the Acropolis brand at both Stack Seaburn / Newcastle, Grainger Market, Newcastle Sunday Quayside and many more events. 

Serving a delicious variety of Homemade Greek Cuisine, we'd recommend trying their famous Chicken Gyros or Veggie Souvlaki.

All Acropolis products are homemade and authentic.

On the coastal seafronts of Seaham and Roker, Downey's have built up a great reputation for serving the best locally produced Fish & Chips in the area. 

These guys really know how to make Britain's greatest dish proud, with golden chips and their secret recipy batter. 

Alongside their legendary Cod and Haddock, Downey's also offer up a vast menu including langoustines, scampi, lemon sole and mussels!
